NUEVE TUERCAS

Nueve Tuercas is a Spanish project of Progressive Rock founded in 2013 in Madrid by Miguel Laguna Crespo, who is until now the only member of the project, in charge of the composition, and production of the discographic and artistic material of Nueve Tuercas.

History

Beginning and first recordings

It began in February 2013, linked to the program Radiophonic Rincón la Fábrica that for three seasons was dedicated to be a cultural and literary space of half an hour a week that issued stories of diverse genre, monographs, interviews and music belonging to the label Rincón la fábrica – Ediciones and the old Pepinoh Reccords, diffuser of the Punk Rock Band Basureah and Miguel y los hesputos mutantes.

The task of Nueve Tuercas in this program was to produce first the synth of beginning of Rincón la Fábrica, called Sintonía N ° 1 (old "Introducción" song of Miguel and the hesputos mutants) and some instrumental backgrounds to accompany the locution of the stories, However, as the weeks went by, the program incorporated new themes such as alternative synths that would gradually be refined until 2014 when Nueve Tuercas dared a first self-titled album that collected recycled material from the last throes of Miguel y los hesputos mutantes (Truenan) with various instrumental songs and rock songs with psychedelic streak.

From here came a time of intense experimentation as Ojos Inquietos and Hijos de codicia, two singles that offered a sophisticated and powerful Rock that was going to be the aperitif of a second album announced first as "II" and later as "Personajes" that was composed in its entirety and from whose first sessions he recorded "Chiqui", "Sol de mi vida"and" Potpourri for band No. 2 ".

Historias de la calle de abajo

It was for the autumn of 2015 that a second album completely different to “Personajes” it was edited. Historias de la calle de abajo it supposed a resounding and transcendental evolution for Nueve Tuercas with songs like "Hijo del barrio" or" Amanecer de la Aurora".

In 2016 Miguel went to live in Peru, promising in the media a new album of Nueve Tuercas for that year called in several ways: "Dentro de la guerra", "La Estrella y la Aurora" or "Fábula" but with the exception of "Rarezas" a compilation with the various alternative recordings of Nueve Tuercas, nothing of the afore mentioned was made. At the beginning of 2017, Nueve Tuercas sees the possibility of performing live in Lima with three acoustic performances that also recovers material from Miguel y los hesputos mutantes and Basureah, the experience included within a festival of composers organized by Alexander Andrade, and a program Online TV called "5 minutos de fama", presented by the communication professional, Wilmer Ato Campos, serves Nueve Tuercas as a source of change and inspiration in the composition of the new album that lasts for a year and a half.

A la sombra del Árbol

In October 2018, already recorded in Spain sees the light A la sombra del Árbol, the final third album by Nueve Tuercas produced also in Bluecat Music with Víctor Lago as sound engineer, this work of 7 songs is a cyclical work in which For the first time, the style of the project is merged with elements of folkloric Spanish music and in which there is a tribute to Basureah and Miguel y los hesputos mutantes, also to the second album Historias de la calle de abajo. The album is again a very strong compositional step and also an aesthetic change, since the cover is in color, unlike the rest of previous recordings of Nueve Tuercas, with covers in black and white. The lyrics offer a new and unparalleled poetic world that in turn serves as food for new stories from Rincón la Fábrica. On January 1, 2019 the album Rarezas - Vol 2 is released, which returns to collect demos and lost or unpublished songs from Nueve Tuercas recorded between 2013 and 2015.

Likewise, Rincón la Fábrica - Ediciones is strengthened as a creative label, returning the literary musical magazine: "Amanecer de la Aurora" to production.

Poema a la Luna

In January 2020 the fourth album of the project entitled "Poema a la Luna" is published, in this work, composed of 4 themes of the symphonic Rock complex, the concept of cyclic work of "A la sombra del Árbol"is repeated, this time since a different optic, the touches of traditional Spanish music continue, although keyboards, vocals, metallic and powerful guitars take great presence, and in general a meticulous and novel production for Nueve Tuercas.

Curiosities

Miguel Laguna Crespo released a single in 2014 called "Pieces for band" with the intention of separating the more symphonic side of Nine Nuts, however later the two tracks of the single "Potpourri for band N ° 1" and "El cofre" were already included as Nine Nuts in "Stories from the street below" and in "Rarities".
